I had previously attended the property a couple of years ago when the tenant had locked there selfs out and was required to gain entry. A normal lockout with a latch lock can be mostly opened via bypass but because this was a BS version that option was not available (in some cases a badly fitted BS night latch lock can be bypassed or in some rare cases the lock box has been changed to a non BS so it\u2019s always best practice to test).
The added security features on BS latch lock like anti drill disk really hinder SPP but I have found that they do bump quite well and used that method to gain entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As always on a lock change I prefer to fit like for like branded sash & deadlocks to limit any wood work unless the locks in place are not BS or a low quality brand and I perform a upgrade. Both locks were non branded so I upgraded to Union Strongbolts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ERA night latch was next to do but when I removed the lock case I discovered that one retaining screw had been broken off and the second had been bent so removed both and replaced with spares out of the van and changed the cylinder – we stock a few different brands including ERA so a like for like was used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All locks are now changed and ready for the the new tenant – we are aware changing locks is a cost to the landlord but we do advise this should be done after every end of tenancy for security reasons – who knows who might have a key! if you require a lock change or any other service then give us a call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LS Locksmiths![\"Locksmith](\"https:\/\/nottinghamlocksmith.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/A7D8BCCE-A4B7-4AD5-943C-EBF9DFDB3FA1-768x1024.jpeg\")
